Fabula de Aesop
Într-o zi, un leu dormea în pădure. Un șoricel mic a trecut din greșeală peste trupul lui. Leul s-a trezit și a fost foarte supărat.
„Cum îndrăznești să mă trezești?” a întrebat leul. A prins șoarecele cu laba lui mare.
“Îmi pare rău!” a spus şoarecele. “Te rog, dă-mi drumul. Poate într-o zi te pot ajuta.”
Leul a râs. “Ești prea mic să mă ajuți!” Dar a lăsat șoarecele să plece.
Câteva zile mai târziu, leul mergea prin pădure și a căzut într-o plasă pusă de vânători. Nu a putut să iasă. A răcnit tare.
Șoarecele a auzit leul și a alergat să-l ajute. A ros frânghia cu dinții lui mici. Curând, plasa s-a rupt și leul a fost liber.
“Vezi,” a spus şoarecele, “te-am ajutat!”
Leul a zâmbit. “Mulțumesc, prietene. M-am înșelat.”
Morala povestirii:
Chiar și prietenii mici pot fi de mare ajutor.

One day, a lion was sleeping in the forest. A little mouse ran over his body by mistake. The lion woke up and was very angry.
“How dare you wake me up!” said the lion. He caught the mouse with his big paw.
“I’m sorry!” said the mouse. “Please let me go. Maybe one day, I can help you.”
The lion laughed. “You are too small to help me!” But he let the mouse go.
A few days later, the lion was walking in the forest. He got trapped in a net set by hunters. He could not get out. He roared loudly.
The mouse heard the lion and ran to help. It chewed the rope with its small teeth. Soon, the net broke and the lion was free.
“You see,” said the mouse, “I helped you!”
The lion smiled. “Thank you, little friend. I was wrong.”
Moral of the story:
Even small friends can be a big help.
