Anna era nerăbdătoare, dar și puțin îngrijorată. Tocmai obținuse un nou loc de muncă într-o companie de marketing și nu știa exact la ce să se aștepte. S-a trezit cu o oră mai devreme decât de obicei, și-a pregătit o ținută elegantă și a plecat spre birou cu autobuzul.
Când a ajuns, a fost întâmpinată de Maria, colega care fusese desemnată să o ajute să se acomodeze. Maria i-a oferit un tur al biroului, prezentându-i echipa și explicându-i cum funcționează lucrurile în companie.
„O să-ți placă aici,” i-a spus Maria cu un zâmbet. „Suntem o echipă unită și ne susținem unii pe alții.”
Anna a observat că atmosfera era prietenoasă, dar în același timp profesională. La ședința de dimineață, a încercat să urmărească discuțiile, deși unele cuvinte tehnice i se păreau încă dificile. A notat tot ce i s-a părut important și a pus câteva întrebări pertinente, ceea ce i-a impresionat pe colegi.
La pauza de prânz, a fost invitată să mănânce cu câțiva dintre colegi. Conversația a decurs natural, iar Anna s-a simțit acceptată și chiar apreciată pentru simțul ei al umorului.
Când ziua s-a încheiat, Anna era obosită, dar mulțumită. Știa că mai are multe de învățat, însă avea convingerea că luase o decizie bună. În drum spre casă, a zâmbit și și-a spus:

Anna was excited, but also a little worried. She had just gotten a new job at a marketing company, and she wasn’t sure what to expect. She woke up an hour earlier than usual, put on an elegant outfit, and took the bus to her office.
When she arrived, she was greeted by Maria, the colleague who had been assigned to help her settle in. Maria gave her a tour of the office, introducing her to the team and explaining how things work in the company.
“You’ll love it here,” Maria said with a smile. “We’re a close-knit team and we support each other.”
Anna noticed that the atmosphere was friendly yet professional. At the morning meeting, she tried to follow along, although some of the technical words were still difficult for her. She wrote down everything that seemed important to her and asked a few pertinent questions, which impressed her colleagues.
During lunch, she was invited to eat with some of her colleagues. The conversation flowed naturally, and Anna felt accepted and even appreciated for her sense of humor.
When the day ended, Anna was tired but satisfied. She knew she still had a lot to learn, but she was convinced that she had made the right decision. On the way home, she smiled and said to herself:
“This is a promising start.”
